The Rippling integration lets your AI agent look up employees, pull department rosters, and display org chart data on demand. Team members find who they need through conversation instead of digging through Rippling.
When to Enable This
- Your company is growing quickly and the org chart changes frequently
- Employees regularly ask HR or office managers for colleague contact info
- Managers need a quick way to see their full department roster

Prerequisites
- A Rippling account with API access (available on most plans)
- An API key generated from the Rippling admin console
- Admin access to Rippling for key generation
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Generate an API Key
- In Rippling, go to the admin console
- Navigate to Company Settings → API Access
- Click Create API Key
- Name it “ChatSpark” and select read permissions for employee data
- Copy the generated key
Step 2: Enable in ChatSpark
- In ChatSpark, go to AI Actions
- Find Rippling in the Library and click Enable
- Select the agent(s) that should have access
- Paste your API key
- Click Save

Testing Your Integration

Troubleshooting
401 Unauthorized
Verify your API key is correct and hasn't been revoked. Rippling API keys can be managed from the admin console under API Access.
Employee not found
The API key's scope determines which employees are visible. If the key was created with limited department access, employees outside those departments won't appear in results.
Org chart incomplete
Org Chart data depends on manager fields being populated in Rippling. If reporting relationships aren't set for some employees, they may not appear in the hierarchy.
