Overview
Monday.com boards are powerful, but they can grow unwieldy fast. When a board has hundreds of items across multiple groups, finding one specific item or getting a group-level summary means scrolling, filtering, and clicking—over and over.
The Monday.com integration lets your AI agent query boards directly. Team members can ask for a specific item, get a summary of a group, or pull all items matching certain criteria—all through natural language, no board navigation required.
When to Enable This
- Your boards have grown large and finding specific items takes too long
- Managers need quick group-level summaries during check-ins or standups
- Cross-functional teams reference Monday boards they don't manage themselves

Prerequisites
- A Monday.com account (Standard plan or higher for API access)
- An API token generated from your Monday.com account
- Read access to the boards you want the agent to query
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Generate an API Token
- In Monday.com, click your avatar → Developers
- Go to My Access Tokens
- Click Show to reveal your personal API token, or generate a new one
- Copy the token
Step 2: Enable in ChatSpark
- In ChatSpark, go to AI Actions
- Find Monday.com in the Library and click Enable
- Select the agent(s) that should have access
- Paste your API token
- Click Save

Troubleshooting
401 Unauthorized
Confirm your API token is correct and hasn't been regenerated. If you recently changed your Monday.com password, your token may have been invalidated.
Board not found
The API token can only see boards accessible to the account that created it. If a board is private or in a different workspace, verify the token owner has access.
Column values missing
Some custom column types (like formulas or mirrors) may return raw data rather than display values. This is a Monday.com API limitation.
