Overview

Sales reps waste hours toggling between chat windows and Pipedrive to answer basic questions: “Where's the Acme deal?” “Who's the contact at Widget Corp?” Meanwhile, prospects waiting in chat lose patience and drop off.

The Pipedrive integration lets your AI agent pull deal details, contact info, organization records, activities, and pipeline stages directly into the conversation, so your team can respond in seconds instead of minutes.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Pipedrive, make sure you have:

  • A Pipedrive account on any plan with API access
  • Admin or manager permissions to generate an API token

Setup Instructions

Step 1: Generate Your API Token

  1. Log in to Pipedrive
  2. Click your profile icon → Personal preferences
  3. Go to the API tab
  4. Copy your Personal API token
Token Security
Your API token grants full access to your Pipedrive data. Never share it publicly or commit it to version control.

Step 2: Enable in ChatSpark

  1. In ChatSpark, go to AI Actions
  2. Find Pipedrive in the Library and click Enable
  3. Select the chatbot(s) that should have access
  4. Paste your API Token
  5. Click Save

Testing Your Integration

After setup, open your chatbot widget and try these realistic queries:

  1. Ask: “What stage is the Acme Corp deal in?”
  2. The AI should return the deal name, value, stage, and owner from Pipedrive

More test phrases:

  • “Pull up the contact info for Sarah at Widget Inc”
  • “Do we have any upcoming calls scheduled for the Globex deal?”
  • “Show me the org record for Contoso Ltd”

Troubleshooting

401 Unauthorized

Double-check that the API token is correct and hasn't been regenerated since you saved it in ChatSpark. Regenerating a token in Pipedrive invalidates the previous one.

Deal or contact not found

Pipedrive lookups use name matching. Make sure the name in your query closely matches the record in Pipedrive. Partial matches are supported but very short names may return multiple results.

Rate limiting

Pipedrive enforces API rate limits per company. If you see intermittent errors under heavy usage, wait a few seconds and retry.
